Program Description


This program will be a continuation of the “Kicking in Healthy Life Styles program that we did last year in Windhoek and in the North.  The focus of this program will be to empower young boys and girls and to reinforce the following message that sports are an option for celebrating one’s self, life and body, and a way of avoiding potentially destructive behaviors and peer pressure.  The focus will be on health messaging (particularly regarding HIV/AIDS) through team sports.


Purpose of the program


Through this program post would like to reinforce the message that one can make positive life decisions through participating in Sports.




Target audience is young boys and girls age 10-18, teachers, coaches and parents. This program supports social responsibility programs using sport as a medium for outreach to empower economically disadvantaged youth.

Proposed Topics/Nature of Events


Post plans a one week program. Planned activities include: Classroom sessions in the morning on the following topics:


·Peer Pressure and how to deal with it

·Self Esteem

·Making decisions early on in life that will positively influence your future

·Using soccer (sports in general) as a tool to empower and to enhance your life

·HIV/AIDS messaging and Sports using Skillz exercises as a means to address HIV/AIDS related issues

·Workshops on the Skillz Curriculum and training
